Quandela is a spin-off company created in 2017 in Paris from the French national laboratory, Centre of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (C2N-CNRS). The expertise at the core of Quandela lies in solid-state physics, semiconductor nanostructures processing and quantum photonic. Specifically, Quandela provides state-of-the-market, performing and compact products for quantum optics applications thus supporting the emergence of scalable quantum technologies. The core product consists in semiconductor-based quantum light source devices which provide single and indistinguishable photons at high rate. Photons, as flying qubits, represent the perfect medium to transfer and share quantum information; for this reason, efficient devices generating pure states of quantum light serve as central technological blocks in quantum communication protocols. The role of Quandela is to provide the main tools for the development of quantum communication technologies towards practical applications, both in fiber and free-space networks.
